La nueva versión del iPhone se venderá en Reino Unido, el próximo mes de julio, por 100 libras (Є126). El modelo anterior cuesta mucho más, y esto es lo importante. Actualmente se vende por £269 (8GB). La rebaja de precio, y el lanzamiento a pocos días de USA, se debe a una nueva estrategia de Apple en el país.
A partir del mes de julio, poco después de que sea lanzado en Estados Unidos, la nueva versión del iPhone se podrá adquirir en Reino Unido a £100 (Є126), un precio muy inferior al de la anterior versión (que actualmente cuesta £269). Igualmente, a los ingleses les va a salir más caro que al resto de Europa, en donde se espera no supere los Є99.
Este recorte de precio, junto al lanzamiento casi en simultáneo con Estados Unidos, se debe a una nueva estrategia de Apple, que quedó muy decepcionada ante las ventas del modelo actual en el país inglés. En Reino Unido solo se vendieron 190.000, cuando se esperaban vender entre 350.000 y 400.000.
A la vez, Apple está estudiando flexibilizar la forma en que las operadoras fijan los precios, O2 en este caso. El problema, como señaló el analista de CCS Insight, es que “no creo que les vayan a dejar decidir el precio, ya que tienen que proteger el mercado del iPod”.
Sin dudas, un recorte en el precio del iPhone, junto a un lanzamiento casi en simultáneo, ayudará a Apple a vender más unidades. Pero lo más importante sería que se acaben las exclusivas con los operadores, como la que Apple tiene en Reino Unido con O2.
Recordemos que el próximo 9 de julio es el día en que Steve Jobs desvelará las características del nuevo iPhone. ¡Atento!
